This guide walks you through adding, using, and removing the Tiwaar Academy Zoom integration. The integration lets academy owners connect their Zoom account and automatically create Zoom meetings for their live class batches.
Adding the Integration
1Sign in to your Tiwaar Academy account. If you don't have one yet, create a free account.
2Navigate to My Academies and select the academy you want to connect Zoom to.
3Go to Settings → Integrations tab.
4Under Zoom, click "Connect Zoom". You'll be redirected to Zoom to authorize the connection.
5Review the permissions Zoom requests and click "Allow". You'll be redirected back to your academy settings.
Required Zoom permissions: The integration requests access to view your user profile, create and manage meetings, and read meeting details. These are the minimum permissions needed to create Zoom meetings for your classes.
Zoom Plan Requirements
The Zoom integration works with any Zoom account, but a paid Zoom Pro plan (or higher) is required for the features that make live classes run smoothly:
40-minute meeting limit (Free plan)
Zoom's free Basic plan caps group meetings at 40 minutes — your class will be disconnected mid-session. Zoom Pro removes this limit, allowing classes of any length.
Cloud recording (Free plan)
Automatic cloud recording — where Tiwaar captures your class and saves it to the student portal — only works on a paid Zoom Pro+ plan. Free accounts only support local recording to your computer, so recordings will not appear in the Recordings section automatically.
Once Zoom is connected, you can create Zoom meetings for your class batches:
Go to Courses → select a course → Batches and create or edit a batch.
In the Meeting Type selector, choose "Zoom". A recurring Zoom meeting is automatically created for all sessions in that batch.
The Join URL is shared with enrolled students in their student portal, and the Start URL is available to the teacher in the batch details.
You can switch a batch between Tiwaar Classroom (built-in), Zoom, and External Meeting at any time from the batch settings.
Removing the Integration
You can disconnect Zoom at any time:
1Go to Settings → Integrations in your academy.
2Under the Zoom card, click "Disconnect".
3Confirm the disconnection. Your Zoom access token is revoked immediately.
Note: Batches currently set to use Zoom meetings will need to be switched to another meeting type (Tiwaar Classroom or External Meeting) after disconnection. Existing Zoom meetings created by the integration will remain in your Zoom account but will no longer be managed by Tiwaar.
To fully revoke access from Zoom's side, visit your Zoom App Marketplace → Installed Apps → Tiwaar Academy → Remove.
Managing & Configuring
After authorization, you can manage your Zoom connection from Settings → Integrations in any academy you own. From there you can view the connected Zoom account, disconnect, or reconnect with a different Zoom account.
