Terms of Service

Welcome to Tiwaar Academy, a subsidiary of Tiwaar Inc. By using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. Definitions

• "Platform" — the Tiwaar Academy software and services, including the academy management dashboard, student portal, live class infrastructure, and payment processing integrations
• "Academy Owner" — a user who creates and manages an academy on the platform
• "Member" — any user who joins an academy as a student, parent, teacher, or staff member
• "Active Student" — a student enrolled in at least one currently active course or batch during a billing period
• "Content" — courses, lessons, videos, recordings, homework, and other materials uploaded to the platform
• "Tiwaar Web Conference" — the built-in live video classroom powered by LiveKit, included in Tiwaar Conference plans
• "BYOM" — Bring Your Own Meeting; the academy connects their own Zoom or Google Meet account for live classes

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account; students under 18 must have parental consent. Account authentication is provided via email and password, or via Google or Microsoft single sign-on (OAuth).

3. Academy Subscriptions — Per-Student Plans

Academy Owners subscribe to a monthly or annual plan tiered by active student capacity. Current plans are:

• Starter — up to 25 active students, 10 GB recording storage
• Plus — up to 50 active students, 25 GB recording storage
• Pro — up to 70 active students, 50 GB recording storage
• Growth — up to 100 active students, 100 GB recording storage
• Enterprise — 100+ active students with custom terms (contact sales)

Annual billing receives a 15% discount. Plan prices are listed in USD for non-India academies and in INR for India-based academies. You may upgrade or downgrade at any time; upgrades take effect immediately and downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. If your active student count exceeds your plan limit, you will be prompted to upgrade to the next tier.

4. Free Trial

New academies receive a 14-day free trial with 500 live minutes included. During the trial, all platform features are available. At the end of the trial, you must select a paid plan to continue using the platform. If no plan is selected, your academy will be suspended and data retained for 30 days before deletion.

5. Live Class Options

Academies may conduct live classes using one of the following methods:

• Tiwaar Web Conference — the built-in LiveKit-powered classroom with automatic recording, participant management, screen sharing, whiteboard, chat, and hand-raise. Live minutes are included in your plan; overage is billed at the published rate.
• Zoom Connect — connect your own Zoom account via OAuth. Tiwaar creates and manages recurring Zoom meetings for your batches. The first Zoom account is included free; each additional Zoom account (for concurrent classes) requires a monthly add-on subscription ($5.99/month USD or ₹500/month INR).
• External Meeting Link — paste your own Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or Muzie link. Tiwaar stores the link and displays it to enrolled students; the academy is responsible for hosting and recording.

Zoom is a third-party service. By connecting your Zoom account, you agree to Zoom's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Tiwaar stores your Zoom OAuth tokens securely and uses them only to create and manage meetings on your behalf.

6. Live Minutes and Overage

Tiwaar Conference plans include a monthly allowance of live minutes. If you exceed your included minutes, overage is billed at the published per-minute rate. You may also purchase minute packages in advance, which carry over month to month and are consumed before overage billing. Trial minutes (500) are consumed first during the trial period.

7. Student Payments

Student payments for courses are processed through one of the following methods, depending on the academy's configuration and region:

• Stripe — for non-India academies. Student payments are deposited directly into the academy's bank account via Stripe. Tiwaar does not hold or handle student payments.
• Razorpay — for India-based academies. Student payments are processed through Razorpay and deposited into the academy's bank account.
• Manual Payment — academies may enable manual payments (cash, UPI, bank transfer, Zelle, or Venmo). Students upload a payment screenshot for academy approval. Tiwaar does not verify or process manual payments; the academy is solely responsible for collecting and reconciling manual payments.

Academy Owners are responsible for their own tax compliance, invoicing, and refund policies for student payments. Tiwaar's role is limited to providing the payment infrastructure.

8. Platform Subscription Payments

Your Tiwaar Academy platform subscription (the per-student plan) is billed as follows:

• Non-India academies: Billed in USD via Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled.
• India-based academies: Billed in INR via Razorpay, collected by Rishis Foundation as Tiwaar Academy's authorized India payment partner. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled.

Add-on subscriptions (additional Zoom accounts, minute packages, logo generation) are billed separately and are non-refundable once charged.

9. India Payment Partner — Rishis Foundation

For customers located in India, Tiwaar Academy has authorized Rishis Foundation to support local operations and collect applicable INR payments for Tiwaar Academy services. These payments are processed through Rishis Foundation's Razorpay merchant account. By subscribing as an India-based academy, you acknowledge that your payment data is shared with Rishis Foundation for billing purposes.

10. Recordings and Storage

Recordings created via Tiwaar Web Conference or imported from Zoom are stored within your plan's storage allowance. If you exceed your storage limit, you will be prompted to upgrade or delete older recordings. Recordings may be published to enrolled students via the student portal, or kept private for teacher use. Academy Owners control which recordings are visible to students.

11. Content and Conduct

You are solely responsible for Content you upload, including course materials, recordings, homework, and images. You must not upload content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, or harmful. We reserve the right to remove Content that violates these terms.

Academy Owners grant students enrolled in their courses a limited license to access course Content for personal, non-commercial use. Content remains the property of the Academy Owner or their licensors. Students may not download, redistribute, or share recordings without the academy's permission.

12. Multi-Tenant Isolation

Each academy operates as an isolated tenant. Academy Owners acknowledge that their data is segregated from other academies and that Tiwaar Academy enforces tenant isolation through row-level security (RLS). One academy cannot access another academy's student, course, or financial data.

13. Role-Based Access

Academies may assign members to the following roles: Academy Owner, Academy Administrator, Finance Staff, Teacher, Parent, and Student. Each role has defined permissions for data access and platform actions. Academy Owners are responsible for managing role assignments within their academy.

14. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Access another academy's data without authorization
• Attempt to disrupt or compromise platform security
• Use the platform for fraudulent or illegal activities
• Reverse engineer or scrape the platform
• Spam or harass other users
• Share your Zoom OAuth tokens or API credentials with unauthorized parties
• Record live classes without the consent of all participants where required by law

15. Disclaimers

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We are not liable for the content uploaded by Academy Owners, the conduct of platform users, or the availability of third-party services including Zoom, Stripe, Razorpay, Google, and Microsoft. Live class quality depends on internet connectivity and device hardware, which are outside our control.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tiwaar Inc. and its subsidiaries (including Rishis Foundation) shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the preceding 12 months.

17. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Academy Owners may cancel their subscription at any time from academy settings. Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days before permanent deletion. Zoom OAuth connections are revoked upon account termination.

18. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify Academy Owners of material changes via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
